Tampa residents also love festivals. The annual Gasparilla Pirate Fest, held late in January, celebrates the legendary pirate Jose Gasper. The celebration features a parade and street fair. The Tampa area is home to a diverse population of Spanish-speaking people, meaning there are plenty of bilingual job opportunities for those who speak the language. Major employers in the area include USF Health Medical System and the BayCare Health System. Other notable employers include Raymond James, Bank of America, and Citi. The Port of Tampa is another major employer, as are several insurance companies, Jabil, and OSG Ship Management. In addition, many technology companies, such as ConnectWor, TechData, and Accusoft, are located in the area.

Tampa Bay Brewing Company is one of the oldest breweries in the state and is a popular tourist destination. The restaurant offers delicious food, beer, and good company. Although it isn’t flashy, it’s family-owned, and specializes in authentic home-brewed beer.
